By ESOSA OMOROGBE,

The dwindling zeal for entrepreneurship, small and medium scale businesses among Nigerian youths came to fore at the just concluded skill acquisition, training and workshop organized by
ZUSIISLAND in Benin City.

According to the Chief Executive Officer, ZUSIISLAND Miss Ofure Imhansoloeva, "the training became necessary at this point when the nation's educational system is challenged to the extent that academic calendar could no longer be followed".

" Many of our youths upon admission into higher institutions to study a four year course end up spending seven years, no thanks to the unend face-off between government and ASUU".

Miss Ofure Imhansoloeva, an MSC civil engineering product of University of Benin said "for us to help our youths to get out of the challenges forced on them ZUSIISLAND had to organize this training to bequeath skills on them to the extent of making them self reliant."
"The objective of the training is to redirect the minds of young individuals towards recognizing, developing and perfecting their skills, talents and abilities which they can use to create opportunities for themselves and others.

Miss Ofure Imhansoloeva said "for us to help our youths to get out of the challenges forced on them, the project WOOH ( Work of our hands ) was embarked upon by the ZUSIISLAND TEAM.

"As an organisation, we believe celebrating young entrepreneurs as well as providing an enabling environment would create in the nearest future a world where young Nigerians maximize their potentials and become the STAR they truly are.

Declaring  the two day event with the theme, "inspired for greatness" open, Rev. Fr. Charles OMOGIATE and the special guest Otunba Mike ALADENIKA were both of the opinion that  the workshop and training could not have come at a better time than now that Nigeria's middle class is threatened and fast going to extinction."

They enjoined participants to "take good advantage of the training to equip themselves with the desired skill as the knowledge gotten will come handy tomorrow as well as to help NIGERIA to sustain the growth of the threatened middle class."
