EDO 2020: GOV OBASEKI CAUGHT IN THE WEB

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) reportedly joined the growing list of supporters for the reelection of Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, ahead of the 2020 governorship election in  Edo State with a declaration that Gov OBASEKI has done well to deserve another term.

NAPS President, Mohammed Eneji who was reported to have stated this in Benin city while he led NAPS members on a solidarity visit to Government House, said NAPS is " identifying with the developmental strides recorded by the Obaseki-led administration."

"We are aware of the Obaseki-led administration's revamp of the educational sector with teachers in public primary schools across the state trained on the use of tablets for modern day teaching methods and improve learning outcomes" were  Eneji's words.

The NAPS President emphatically said "We are here to tell the whole federation that Governor Obaseki-led administration is worthy to continue in office."

In what seems to be another twist, the leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic Students, NAPS.  has dissociated itself from what it described as the purported presentation of certificate of credence and endorsement of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State for a second tenure by individuals it said operated under the guise of the student body.

Addressing newsmen in Asaba, Delta State, NAPS National President elect, Comrade Sunday Adekinbi flanked by the National President of it's Senate elect Dio Oghale, noted that "The purported endorsement was never discussed or approved by the senate secretariat of NAPS, neither was it the purpose for polytechnic convergence in Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, hence it is fake.

Comrade Sunday Adekinbi said "NAPS is an independent student body which has no business with internal party politics and political party crisis. As misrepresented by those who lead the Endorsement rally.

"We hereby request the Governor to honorably return the purported certificate of credence recieved back to the National Secretariat of NAPS between now and 7 working days else legitimate Nigeria Polytechnic students shall match to his office to retrive the certificate disgracefully.

The students leaders say NAPS will never be partisan, never promote impunity, but supports efforts to improve on governance in Nigeria.
