COVID-19 : GIVE ATTENTION TO VULNERABLE NIGERIANS...MEDIA PRACTITIONERS.

As the case of Covid-19 appreciates in Nigeria with a high concentrated attention on the elites, media practitioners have called for more attention on the vulnerable average Nigerians.

 Speaking at a one day workshop on "sensitisation and awareness crusade" organized by the management of SPARKNEWS NAIJA for selected Journalists in Edo state, former NUJ Chairman, Edo state council and principal partner, JUDIMIC CONSULT, publishers of SPARKNEWS NAIJA,  OTUNBA Mike Aladenika, said as of today, attention is only given to the elite at the expense of the masses who are the majority.
 OTUNBA ALADENIKA said "although no one prays that the pandemic goes beyond what it is right now but efforts should be put in place to attend to the affected average Nigerians".

In a communique issued after the workshop, the media practitioners agreed that more enlightenment and crusade should be embacked upon, most especially in the rural areas.

The workshop also recommended that provisions should be made for media workers as well as other essential workers like in the medical and security, stressing that Journalists and media workers are prone to greater risk at this point in the nation's history.
