Hon. Anthony Aizuegbenimin, FORMER House of Representatives member, representing Esan North East /Esan South East Fed. Constituency (1999-2007) has emerged Chairman, Edo State PDP.
According to the returning officer, Hon Babatunde Oduyoye, Hon. Aizuegbenimin emerged as chairman having scored 817 votes defeating the former state secretary, Felix Omi Imosili who had 488 votes.
The PDP state Congress which held Saturday in benin city ran through out the night and was concluded Sunday afternoon at about 1.00pm, had accredited delegates from the 3 senatorial districts voting for candidates of their choice into the varrious vacant positions.
In a post election chat with SPARKNEWS NAIJA, the new state chairman, PDP, ANTHONY AIZUEGBENIMIN, thanked delegates and members of the party for the confidence reposed in him.
Aizuegbenimin asured them of his commitment towards growing a party that will restle power with the ruling APC government in Edo state and return PDP to the Dennis Osadebe avenue government house in BENIN CITY.
While speaking with newsmen at the congrCon venue after the election, a member of the House of Representatives and a governorship aspirant on the PDP Platform, Hon Omoregie Ogbeide- Ihama described the Congress as a positive development for the party, Edo state and Nigeria.
Ogbeide-Ihama then called on emerging party leaders and party members to work hand in hand to rescue the state in the forth coming governorship election.
The new set of elected officials of Edo state PDP will pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years.
