COVID-19 : SHUT DOWN EDO STATE NOW . . . Ex Attorney General.

By Mike Aladenika.

With the gradual increase in the National index case of coronavirus in Nigeria which has put the current case at 442 and 13 deaths out of which 15 cases and 1 death are credited to Edo state, some stakeholders have called on the state government to, as a matter of proactive policy, shut down the state totally and completely,  in other to avert continue spread of the disease, while more proactive policy for treatment is genuinely put in place.

Prominent among "the total shutdown" advocates is a former Attorney General of Edo state and a legal practitioner, Henry Idahagbon who said "the only and best way to check the continued spread of COVID-19 is a total shutdown."

Idahagbon who stated this in Benin City, in an exclusive interview with SPARKNEWS NAIJA, said "considering the mode of transmission of the virus, the best way to check its continued spread is to luck-in everyone that is yet to contact the virus, while we go after those who have contacted for assessment and treatment."

Barrister Henry Idahagbon said "coronavirus pandemic should not be treated with levity but with all seriousness as it's full blown will be devastating" stressing that "there is no further explanation by Edo state government to continue with it's partial shutdown as this may be counter productive".

The ex Attorney General then called on Edo state citizens to be prepared for the challenges ahead as we will collectively end COVID-19 in Edo state.
