Edo NULGE Gets New State Leadership As 11th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference Produces Daudu Clifford Led Exco.

The 11th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference of the National Union of Local Government Employees NULGE has ended at Sabongida-Ora where it climaxed with the election of Comrade Daodu Clifford as the president of the Union for the next four years.
Declaring the business session cum ceremony open, the President- General of NULGE in Nigeria, Comrade Akeem Olatunji Ambali supported by other national officers enjoined delegates to conduct themselves peacefully.
"This is our Union and we should all know that we are of one family. Elections may seem to divide us because it is a contest but we should always remember that the struggle is to librate our people, the workers. So, I enjoined whosoever will emerge as elected, today, never to see himself as an emperor but a servant of the people.
Comrade Akeem Olatunji Ambali also commended the outgoing leadership headed by Comrade Lazarus Adorolo whom he said has served the union and his people diligently during his tenor as president, Edo NULGE.
At the commencement of the election, the chief returning officer, a former President NULGE, Edo State and former NLC Chairman, Edo State, Comrade Anthony Kaduna Eboigbodin enjoined accredited delegates and contestants to conduct themselves in a manner in line with the Union's constitution.
At the end of the of the keenly contested and peaceful election, Comrade Clifford Daudu emerged the President, defeating three other contestants and having garnered the highest number of total votes cast.
While declaring the result of the election, the accredited returning officer, Comrade Anthony Kaduna Eboogbodin commended the delegates for their peaceful disposition during the process of the election.
In his message of appreciation after his election the Edo state President-elect, NULGE, Comrade Clifford Daudu said "I am sincerely grateful to God Almighty for the grace, mercies and uncommon favour he granted us to navigate through the processes that climaxed to the State Officers election where I emerged as the State President elect of NULGE, Edo State.
"Special appreciation to the best Governor in Nigeria, Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, of Edo state, for demonstrating comradeship in creating the enabling environment and necessary support for us to hold our elections without hitches, such laudable gestures demonstrated by His Excellency will never be taken for granted.
"To our national leadership ably led by the President General, distinguished Comrade Akeem Olatunji Ambali who came to Edo to restore peace and calmness in an already tensed Union. As a father and a man of his words, having fixed the date and venue for the election he came to ensure that the election went smoothly as earlier scheduled. I remain grateful to him for his fatherly deposition and commitment to see that the wishes of Nulgerians in Edo State prevailed.
The newly elected Edo NULGE President further said "My deepest appreciation also goes to our leader in the struggle, Comrade Kaduna osas Eboigbodin, former National Deputy President, Former State President, former HOLGA and former NLC chairman in Edo State for the uncommon leadership and his commitment to a credible electoral process. The National President appointing him as the electoral officer for the election was not a coincidence. May the Almighty God bless him with more wisdom, longevity and good health. Same appreciation goes to other national and state leaders of the Union, Comrade Barr. Friday Jomani, former Deputy National President and Comr. Sanitarian Young Ilenikhena, Immediate Past State President of the NULGE, Edo State for the participation in the process. The advice and commitment of these NULGE veterans was instrumental to the success of the 11th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference.
"I must not fail to commend the effort of the State President, Comrade Lazarus Imokhai Adorolo and the entire State EXCO for standing resilient in defense of the principles that bind us together as one indivisible family in Edo State.The Branch Chairmen were extraordinary through the journey and their mass participation alongside other duly elected delegates in yesterday's election was golden. May the God that we serve continually guide and protect us all. NULGE Edo President Elect said.
"I am eternally grateful to the Secretariat staff led by Olumuyiwa 'cole Esq. for the painstaking steps in ensuring that the right thing is done at all time. The constitutional processes followed is indeed faultless.
"Let me also remark that the confidence reposed in me is massive and loud and won't be betrayed. To my gallant opponents/ co-contestants, the victory is for all of us. There is no loser we all won the election and congratulations to us all.
The newly elected Comrade Daudu Clifford-led exco is expected to be sworn in later in September to pilot the affairs of the Union in the next four years.
