By Mike ALADENIKA.

The Nigerian army has described the trending video clips on social media  as extremely malicious and a calculated attempt to tannish the image of the Armed forces of Nigeria.

According to the Coordinator,  Defense Media Operations, Major General John Enenche, the currently trending video clips  " were clips of past incidents that took place in 2012 and 2013 respectively".

Major General Enenche said "the clips are being used by some mischievous elements to tannish the image of the Armed forces of Nigeria, stressing that the materials are not only misleading, they are not in anyway related to the present military engagement of the Armed forces of Nigeria towards the lockdown on COVID-19".

The Defense Media Operations' coordinator, then called on the general public to disregard the video clips in it's totality as " it is the handiwork of false news propagators, stressing that the Armed forces of Nigeria remains undaunted and would not be distracted"

Major General Enenche further said
"the Armed Forces of Nigeria is committed to performing its constitutional roles towards ensuring the protection of our territorial integrity and the lives and property of the general public."
