EDO 2020 : EDO STATE WILL BE BETTER WITH ME AS GOVERNOR. . . ENGR. GIDEON IKHINE.

Ahead of Edo state governorship election slated for September 2020, the People's Democratic Party(PDP) seems set for the contest even as one of the Party's Frontline aspirant, Engr. Gideon Ikhine indicates interest with a genuine zeal to contest the  Edo governorship election coming up in September this year.

Due to his determination towards this  ambition,  Engr.Gideon Iknine has since toured the 192 political wards in Edo State which other aspirants are yet to do. This clearly shows that his interest to form the next government in Edo State knows no bound.

As the primaries gets closer, Engr. Gideon Ikhine unveils his preparedness  for the election in a chat with journalists in Benin City.

Engr. Ikhine said he welcomed the release of election time table by INEC, adding that he has been waiting for this moment haven started the journey over a year ago. "We have been looking forward to this day. Now that the form is out, this is the period to separate the boys from the men. In the next few weeks the true aspirants would  emerge"

On the purported zoning of PDP ticket to a particular zone, Engr. Ikhine  said it is not true. According to him, "There was a caucus meeting within the party where they resolved that since PDP was not presently in power, that  zoning the party ticket to a particular zone will deny the party the ample choice  of having  one of the best hands to represent them.The governorship position is open to all the three senatorial districts".

He also said that "some people are relying on the fact that the chairmanship position is presently being occupied by  Hon. Anthony Aiziegbemi from Edo Central, adding that this is not the first time PDP is having this kind of arrangement".  He further said "in 2007,  Solomon Aguele from Esan South East was chairman of the party when Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor was the governor of Edo State."

Engr Ikhine said this simply means that "by the grace of God history is about to repeat itself as the present chairman, Hon.  Anthony Aiziegbemi is from Esan South  East  while himself is from Esan West. As God works, this means I would be there for 8 years and not 18 months spent by Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor."

He further said by his "assessment  he has no doubt that all the aspirants in PDP are qualified and he also has altmost respect for them. He however, said he was the most suitable person for the position as others are not as visionary as himself copled with his industrial experience which he think stands him out amongst others".

"It is not enough to have a candidate, but the one that can win election for the party. As I speak now I have professionals that are working in all the local governments on economic issues. We are not waiting to win election before we begin to plan. We have the vision and passion to hit the ground running and liberate  our people as soon as we assumed office.

The PDP governorship aspirant further said  that Edo State has what it takes to be the best in Nigeria and self reliance if things are put in proper perspective, adding that his government would not rely on Federal allocation to work.
