EDO 2020 : POLITICS TO GOVERNOR OBASEKI IS SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE . . . Iduoriyekemwen.

Edo state, when compared with other states of the federation has been genuinely endowed with quality and focused leadership which has accounted for its consistent and  upward looking drive till date.

The contributions of past leaders and governor's of then Bendel now Edo state today are instrumental to the regeneration, refocused, redirected state policy towards making Edo state the envy of other states.

This, according to the former Majority Leader, Edo State House of Assembly, and former Commissioner representing Edo state on the Board of the Niger-Delta Development Commission(NDDC) Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, is cardinal to the developmental policy of the current state governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Iduoriyekemwen, in an exclusive interview with SPARKNEWS NAIJA team in Benin city, said past governors like the Late  Dr. Sam Ogbemudia  were forward looking in their foundation laid for a better Edo state, stressing that how best can one explain the intent and the quality put into the structures at the state civil service Secretariat "palm house" on Sapele road, the then Ogbe stadium, the University of BENIN among others.

The two time governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, (2012 & 2016) and now the Chairman, Edo State APC Mobilization Committee, said these legacies and intentions of "our father, Dr. Sam Ogbemudia was almost becoming a state embarrassment due to it's long abandoned state until Governor Godwin Obaseki saw through the heart of Dr. Sam Ogbemudia to complete these projects."

"For God's sake who is saying the new Secretariat and the other adjoining structures are not edifying and adoring for our state? This could only be simply put as saying the governor is working the mind of his Edo people" says Matthew Iduoriyekemwen.

"It is in the administration of our dear governor, Obaseki, that the idea of making the civil service it's own landlord manifested. For so many years, most of our Ministries and government agencies have been tenants or at best operating from borrowed buildings, which is not acceptable to governor Obaseki."

Major, as Matthew Iduoriyekemwen is popularly called said " but for COVID-19 the Sam Ogbemudia stadium would have been rated one of the best, if not the best in Nigeria, considering what was put into it's reconstruction.The intention of which is to bring back Edo state old sporting days and glory with conducive environment and facilities for our sports men and women to excel.

"Honestly speaking, in the spirit of sportsmanship, no responsible coach changes his best striker at a crucial match just because the player is presumed unruly by inconsequential team mates. A good coach will acknowledge the fact that this player is doing him proud"

According to the former Niger-Delta Development Commission's  commissioner, "Edo people regardless of their party affiliations have seen the love for Service and loyalty in working for the people in Governor Godwin Obaseki and are committed to rewarding him with another term so that all the other projects and programs he initiated will be completed.

Iduoriyekemwen then called on all leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to close ranks and work for the return of Governor Godwin Obaseki and his team in the interest of the people of Edo state.
