The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed June 22nd and July 20th, 2020 for the party primaries for both Edo and ONDO states ahead of the governorship elections in the states as approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement issued by the party Secretariat and endorsed by its National Organizing Secretary, Emma Ibediro,Esq.and made available to SPARKNEWSNAIJA, the party also approved the sum of Twenty-Two point Five Million Naira(=N=22.5Million) as the total fee payable by each of the aspirants seeking to contest the governorship of either Edo or Ondo on the platform of the APC.
The schedule, as released by the party says the state chapters would be notified on the 19th of May,2020 to the effect of the process for selecting the party's candidates for the two elections, while the sales of forms will start on the 20th of May to the 2nd of June, 2020 for Edo state while Ondo state's sales of form is expected to start from the 11th of June through to 1st of July 2020.
The last days for the submission of forms are 3rd of June and 2nd of July, 2020 for EDO and ONDO States respectively. While screening of aspirants for Edo is scheduled for 10th and 11th of June, that of Ondo state is slated for the 8th of July, 2020.
The time table, as released by the Party's National Secretariat made provision for claims and objections as well as appeals in line with the party's guidelines.
