The Sokoto state government has reviewed the statewide curfew imposed, in line with the federal government directive, to now be from 10 pm to 6 am daily as against the previous 8pm - 6.am.
This decision was taken by the Joint Security Council and the state Task Force on COVID-19 at a meeting presided over by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state.
Penultimate week, the state government had imposed an 8 pm to 6 am curfew in its effort to curtail the spread of the Corona virus
However, the state goverynment, according to the Chairman of the Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Muhammad Ali Inname, while taking the decision, took into consideration the requests made by people of the state for the reduction in the curfew time.
Meanwhile, the people of the state have been admonished to ensure strict compliance with the World Health Organization (WHO), the federal Ministry of Health and state Ministry of Health's guidelines on the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
These, according him, incllude the use of face masks, social distancing, use of hand sanitizer regular washing of hands as well as other measures that may be prescribed to check the pandemic.
