The Edo state All Progressive Congress Gubernatorial Aspirant, Hon. Mathew Iduoriyekemwen has charged his 192 campaign coordinators across the 18 Local Government Councils to show discipline and good behaviour in their campaign for him to emerge as the governor of Edo under the all progressives congress, APC in the forthcoming primary election slated for June 22nd.
He gave this warning when he meeting with his committed coordinators via Zoom saying he is not in the race to abuse or insult anybody just as he wouldn't accept his co-contestant, Godwin Obaseki who is also on the race being subjected to attack of any kind. He said his coming to serve the people of Edo and that his campaign will be centred around basic issues just like the governor is currently addressing them.
His words: I want to appeal to you to echew the urge to attack or say anything that might portray my strongest opponent, governor Godwin Obaseki in bad light. I will not tolerate any of such. I only feel i can continue from what he is doing.
" Do not abuse him. He is the only one in the race with me. I can see that we are all prepared to serve Edo people with a unique passion. Let the campaigns be issue based. No need for any form of heated arguments. He is my big brother and there is every reason to accord him that respect", Major stated.
He maintained further that it is the love his friends have for him that is actually fuelling his determination and passion for the race hence they went further to secure the nomination and expression of interest form for him, noting that he will not disappoint them.
He also assured them that he "will continue to hold everyone in high esteem because the governor is already executing some of his intended development programmes and if he is given the opportunity to serve as a governor of Edo State, he will be glad to build on those areas that governor Obaseki is addressing as it concerns Edo people's need".
" Education, health, agriculture, jobs etc which i know are vital sectors that the incumbent governor is addressing is a plus for the party so, it will be my key focus. They will form my core priority areas."
He however appeal to everyone to see the privilege of serving at whatever capacity as one that should not be abused irrespective of the provocation from any quarter. He said he will keep looking up to God in his quest to serve the good people of Edo state knowingfully well that they deserve the best in terms of quality and sustainable governance.
