APC CRISIS : DEMONSTRATE YOUR DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP . . . Group tells Party National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu

By Mike ALADENIKA.

A group of All Progressives Congress (APC) members who described themselves as members of the Legacy party   metamorphosised  into today's APC, along with others, has called on the National leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to, as a matter of urgency intervene in the rescuing process of the ship of the party that is about to sink.

In an open letter to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, copy of which was made available to SPARKNEWSNAIJA, the group, whose membership cuts across the six Geo political zones, said "there is no other time than now for Asiwaju to intervene, as his unusual silence to the ongoing constitutional arbitrariness been perpetrated by our party's self styled and dictatorial National Chairman, may be misconstrued to mean your approval."

The group acknowledged "the great contributions of the duo of President Mohammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the formation of and bequeathing unto Nigeria a democratic party based on justice, equity and fair play," which they say is currently derailing "as a result of the unconstitutional and unilateral actions of the Party's National Chairman".

The signatories to the document, fifteen in all said "our views represent the views of many in APC who believed in Asiwaju's leadership but felt that his unwarranted silence may be misconstrued to be consent for National Chairman's action, thus the need for Asiwaju's intervention in rescuing the fast sinking ship of the party", which according to them, "is still redeemable now, with a view to refocusing it to it's original principles ahead of 2023".

The group enumerated, among other actions of the National Chairman, "his unilateral letter to INEC indicating the party's preferred choice of primary for Edo GUBER election, even when the NWC was yet to meet", as well as "another letter to INEC and security agencies indicating the relocation of the party's Secretariat in Edo to another place" which they say "is against the spirit of the Party's constitution".
