Ahead of the official flag off of the campaign for the re-election of Governor Godwin OBASEKI, bigwigs of the Peoples' Democratic party, PDP, led by it's National Chairman, Prince Uche Sekondus and the Chairman of the National Campaign Council, Governor Wike of Rivers State stormed Benin City along with the of Sokoto, Delta,among others storm the city for the campaign.
The first point of call was the Royal Palace of the Oba of Benin where the PDP chieftains pay obeisance to the monarch.
Edo state governor, PDP National Chairman, and Rivers State governor took turn to address the BENIN monarch unveiling their mission in the state.
The Oba's guests said Edo state is blessed with the personality of it's governor, Godwin OBASEKI whom the nation is also proud of.
Responding, the Royal Majesty, Oba of Benin thank His guests for finding time to visit the palace.
The Oba told his guests that when the when he visited the governor, in government house he prayed for him that God and the ancestors will grant him a peaceful administration which has been answered.
The monarch also told them that He was aware of the turbulence and issues before the primary that the traditional institution prayed for peace which was answered.
Oba Ewuare enjoined Nigerians to keep praying for out leaders. He asureas his guests that the palace will continue to pray to God and the ancestors to give the state a governor that will do well for the people and respect the traditional institution.
