The Sokoto State Executive Council has approved about N700 billions for the construction of two Premier Hospitals in two Local Government Areas in the state.
Addressing Journalists immediately after the Council's meeting held at the Council's Chambers, Government House, Sokoto, the state Health Commissioner, Dr. I. Imane said the facilities would be sited at Tambuwal and Sabin Birni Local government Areas of the state.
That after much debate and deliberation, the Council which was chaired by the Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, approved the said billions of Naira.
He said that of Tambuwa Premier Hospital would gulp N1,767,917.37 and would be completed within 18 Months while that of Sabon Birni will cost N1,780,757.32 to be completed within 19 Months.
the Health Commissioner also reveled that Usmànu Danfodio University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto is expected to train and provide the necessary Man Power for effective and qualitative service to the state.
He also stated that the Ramat Special Hospital currently loaned to the Military will revert to it's former ànd original name all as some of government efforts towards development of the state, health-wise.
