#ENDSARS PROTEST : OBASEKI'S APPROACH TO CHECKING CRIMINALITY AND VIOLENCE IS UNIQUE . . . PDP CHIEFTAIN.

While echoes of the #EndSARS protest reverberates around the country, Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, philip Shaibu of Edo State have  received  commendations  for the series of timely and proactive measures they  deployed towards ensuring the crisis was nipped in the bud before it escalated beyond control.

 A former commissioner and  a PDP chieftain in  Edo state,  Henry Duke Tenebe who stated this during a chat with newsmen in Benin said "Gov Obaseki and Shaibu demonstrated  the stuff they are  made of as a crisis manager In the manner they  acted promptly to diffuse tension", noting that their   quick response and  ability to reach out to the #EndSARS protesters and the other agitators helped to avert plunging the state into complete anarchy.

 According to  Hon Tenebe, " the urgency with which Gov Obaseki and Shaibu  tackled the request of the #EndSARS protesters, including the series of meetings they  held  with different segments of youth groups in the state, which resulted in assurances from the top echelon of the protesters, was a masterstroke in calming frayed nerves and the guarantee for a peaceful atmosphere."

"Gov Obaseki and his deputy, Shaibu had, at the onset of the #EndSARS protest, showed empathy with the protesters by identifying with their cause while also urging for peaceful protests".

 "The Edo state government's imposition of  a 24 hour curfew on the state when it appeared that the protest had been hijacked by hoodlums who unleashed terror and violence on vital organs of the state, including two jailbreaks in one day has not been controverted."

 Hon Tenebe  who solicited for  continuous support for the obaseki, Shaibu government by Edo people  noted that, " The people are satisfied with the way and manner Gov Obaseki and Shaibu handled the #EndSARS protest"

The former Edo commissioner further said that  proficiency displayed by the duo of Governor obaseki and Shaibu   in crisis management is a testimony that their recent success at the September 19th Governorship Election was not a fluke but a reassurance of solidarity by Edo people.
