Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) has warned the self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to refrain from uttering inciting statements that could set the country ablaze even as the country experienced unrest in some parts.
In a statement jointly signed by its President, Comrade Curtis Eghosa Ugbo and Acting Secretary, Pastor Osayuki Uhimwen, the Benin Solidarity Movement said their investigation revealed that the violence that attended the #EndSARS protest was ochestrated by Kanu’s utterances.
While advising Kanu to go to his state of origin to destroy property if he so desires, BSM warned Kanu to refrain from including Edo as Biafra franchise area, saying Edo State is never part of Biafra
“We of the BSM wish to warn Nnamdi Kanu that his days of mischief making are over and he should tow a path of decency and loyalty to the Nigerian state. Anything short of that will spell doom for him and his army of renegades.
“The Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) wish to sound a note of final warning to Nnamdi Kanu and his cohorts that any attempt by him to play smart would be vehemently resisted by the BSM.
“If Nnamdi Kanu is so desirous of destroying anything he should go and destroy his father’s property in Abia State. Also his idiotic claim that Edo State is part of Biafra should stop henceforth. Edo State is not part of Biafra and would never be,” BSM warned.
BSM, while throwing its weight behind the #EndSARS protest however lamented that in spite genuine intention of the people that started the protest, it has been hijacked by hoodlums.
The group frowned at the jailbreaks in Benin City, the burning, looting and destruction to the properties.
