# ENDSARS PROTEST TURN VIOLENT IN BENIN. . . as protesters break into correctional facilities, set police stations on fire.
By Mike ALADENIKA.
Monday morning presented another dimension to the ongoing #ENDSARS protest in Benin as perceived hoodlums and criminals take over, a once peaceful, protest turned violent.
Reports say the signs of violence entered the protest since on Friday when the protest was allegedly highjacked by hoodlums who then operated at the Kings Square rapping young girls and forcefully taking belongings like phones, cash and other valuables from innocent citizens.
Sunday which one would have expected to have been a rest day was not different as upper mission axis, upper Sokpomba and other suburb communities had their share of Violence visited on them, all for #ENDSARS.
Monday morning however took another dimension as the protest has been taken into interior streets of the state capital while institutions now became targets.
Sporadic gunshots were visible almost everywhere with no counter force for order, an indication that the #ENDSARS protest has been hijacked and miss directed in Edo State.
At about 10.30am, the Benin correctional facility was accessed and inmates released, while a police station was reportedly set on fire at the idogbo axis of Benin City.
As at the time of filling in this report, the protesting hoodlums are having a filled day round major streets of Benin, unchecked.
