CRIME : AMAGBA YOUTHS DEFEND COMMUNITY AGAINST POSSIBLE CRIMINAL INVASION AS CASUALTIES INCREASE IN BENIN CULT CLASH

Tension keeps heightening in parts of Benin, the Edo state capital and adjoining towns following the escalation of bloody clashes between rival Aye and Eiye cult groups in the state.
The situaltion became serious as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of the Area Command, Benin and two senior police officers were reportedly shot at the popular Murtala Muhammed (MM) Way close to Third East Circular road junction near Sakponba road in the capital City in the early hours of the day.
Soldiers were said to have been deployed to the troubled areas of Upper Sakponba, Idogbo, Three- House Junction and adjoining locations where activities of the cultists have sent residents fleeing for their lives.
Reports say no fewer than 18 persons have reportedly been killed during the bloody clashes between the two rival groups, even as reports also say some hoodlums were overpowered by Amagba youths at Ogunmwenhi area of Ugbor, when these hoodlums came rubbing unsuspecting shop operators.
After successfully dislodging the criminals, Amagba youths then decided to provide enforcement for their existing security outfit in other to check possible invasion of the community by hoodlums and the warring cultists.
Motorists and commuters coming in and out of the community were subjected to serious search to confirm their identity. Most motorists who spoke with SPARKNEWSNAIJA crew applauded the proactive nature of the youths to protect lives and property of law abiding citizens and residents of Amagba.
Some of the youths on the "operation protect Amagba community" who spoke with SPARKNEWSNAIJA said "we will not wait for the miscreants and hoodlums who had made Upper Sokpomba and other affected areas of Benin inhabitable to bring their lawlessness into our community"
"We have resolved to join our vigilante group to patrol, check, and monitor the security situation in our community and we will leave no stone unturned to make sure that Amagba is safe for all"
