The elders and the good people of Afuze-Emai Community in Owan East Local Government Area have congratulated Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Right Hon. Philip Shaibu on their well-deserved re-election.
In a letter jointly signed by the Odion-Evbo of Afuze, Special Venerable Josiah Ohiomah and Hon. James Igbarumah on behalf of Afuze-Emai Development Association, the community asserted that the overwhelming victory of Mr. Obaseki and Hon. Shaibu at the gubernatorial election of September 19, 2020, did not come to them as a surprise as it was an attestation to their uncommon dedication to good governance and exemplary development of infrastructure in critical sectors of the State economy.
The community explained that all through the period of electioneering campaign, the acceptability of the Governor and his Deputy by Afuze community was never in doubt, stressing that they had always reposed implicit confidence in them and believed in their style of governance.
According to the community, the planned reconstruction of Afuze Technical College, Afuze-Emai and the Afuze Campus of the State College of Education was a pointer to the interest of the administration in the progress of the community.
The Afuze-Emai community thanked Governor Obaseki and his administration for their commitment to the construction of Afuze-Erah-Ekpoma Road and approval of the processes leading to commencement of civil works, which they described as a legacy project that will bring about socio-economic transformation of communities in Owan East and Esan West Local Government Areas.
In the letter, the community also noted that Afuze Ward voted overwhelmingly for the People’s Democratic Party because of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu even in the face of resistance by the opposition and reassured them of the community’s fullest support and cooperation in their avowed commitment to meeting the aspirations of the people during their second term in office.
They prayed God Almighty to imbue the Governor and his Deputy with wisdom and grant them good health in the years ahead.
