The People's Democratic Party's state working Committee has formally met with the immediate past state working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state headed by Barr. Anselm Ojezua.
The meeting which was christened "Consolidated Meeting" was held at the state Party secretariat and presided over by PDP Edo state party Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi.
According to PDP, Edo state Publicity Secretary, Chris Osa Nehikhare the meeting which was chaired by the state chairman Dr. Tony Aziegbemi had in attendance the members of the state working committee as well as former APC state working committee members led by Barr. Anselm Ojezua.
"It was called a Consolidated meeting because it is the first time the erstwhile state working committee of the APC that resigned its membership of APC to join PDP was formerly meeting with the PDP state working committee."
Dr. Aziegbemi described the meeting as extraordinary bearing in mind the circumstances that led to their resignation and joining the PDP. He harped on the cooperation and collaboration that was exhibited that led to the victory of Governor Obaseki and PDP at the polls. He used the occasion to formerly welcome them into the party while advocating for total commitment, loyalty and oneness. He talked about his vision and need to build a strong and dependable party. A party that will not compromise on service delivery to Edo people."
Barr. Anslem Ojezua speaking along same lines x-rayed the past events and concurred on the need to build a strong and cohesive platform.
The meeting was said to have held under a very cordial and purposeful atmosphere.
