If the information emanating from the office of the Edo State Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs is anything to go by, then the eighteen elected local government Chairmen and their councillors may have completed their tenure in office as the state government has directed them to handover the administration of the councils to the highest ranking civil servants in their varrious Council.
In a letter from the State Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, addressed to the 18 local government chairmen in the state with reference number FMLC.170/vol.111/646 dated 2nd March, 2021 issued and signed by Princess M. E. Jos-Bazuaye, Functioning Permanent Secretary of the Ministry titled "HANDING OVER BY LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CHAIRMEN" ordered the council chairmen to hand over to their HOLGA.
According to the letter, the Functioning Permanent Secretary of the Ministry , Princess M. E. Jos-Bazuaye said "I am directed to refer to the above subject and to request that all local government council chairmen are to hand over the administration of the 18 local government councils to the respective Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) in their various local government", latest by Friday the 5th March, 2021.
