CALL CHIEF ADUN TO ORDER, EVBOVBIOBA COMMUNITY APPEALS TO RELEVANT AUTHORITIES.

 By Esosa Omorogbe.

Indigenes of Evbovbioba Community  in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State have sent an SOS to the state government , the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Eware II,  and other relevant authorities to save them from what they described as "oppression in the hands of Chief Osamede Adun, the Aiyobaghan of Benin Kingdom, also known as 'Bob-Izua' over plots of land in their community."

Elders of the community, unanimously stated at an enlarged Town Hall Meeting, Monday, that "Chief Adun now goes around harassing the our people with thugs and arresting of some of our elders with security personnels," thus calling on "our most revered Oba of Benin kingdom to  please come and rescue us from the hands of  Bob Izua."
According to Comrade Matthew Iyoha, former Youth Chairman of the community, "we are  appealing to Oba Ewuare II to help call Chief Osemede Adun to order as the community is not ready to allow him take possession of our land".

"Chief Osamede Adun just want to oppress us, can you imagine that he took us all, including the elders in the community, as old as they are from the beginning of the alleged land he claimed belongs to him from  where he said his land started from, we took his paper, we started to count until it gets to where his paper exhausted, that was where we pegged, he then told us that the other papers were kept in his house that he was going back to bring them for verification. Till date we are still waiting for him with the other papers he promised".

"So, such person is coming to our community to make us homeless, as old as our elders are, we will not accept that from him, our elders are no longer in our community.

"We want to appeal to the relevant authorities, most especially our father, His Royal Majesty, our great Oba, Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin Kingdom to come to our aid," he said.
,
Similarly, Prince Kester Izevbokun said "There was a strange call to me that, Bob Izua came with thugs to the community and beat up some elders and also handed over others to the police, as am talking now we are currently hiding ourselves in the neighboring villages all for safety and we are calling on relevant authorities to come to our aid."

Ede Ogbeide narration was in no way different from others who spoke before him, stressing that  "Bob Izua is claiming half of our community land, from the major road to the river side, from the beginning of the community to the end point. As for me I don't no who Bob Izua is".

When SPARKNEWSNAIJA contacted Chief Osamede Adun on telephone, he said some elements in that community are been mischievous, stressing that he legitimately acquired whatever land he has in that community.
He however said "I am currently out of town but as soon as I come into Benin, I will call you so that you can also hear my side of the story"
