EDO STATE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE BEGINS RECRUITMENT OF STAFF AHEAD OF TAKEOFF.

The Edo State Government has, on Monday, commenced the recruitment of fresh staff for the restructured Edo State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, with three campuses in Iguoriakhi, Agenebode and Uromi, ahead of the institution’s official takeoff.

The Permanent Secretary, Edo State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Godwin Okonofua, in a statement in Benin City, urged qualified candidates to apply to fill vacant positions as principal officers, academic and non-teaching staff in the College.

Dr.  Okonofua said the exercise is in line with the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration’s commitment to reposition the school as a foremost agricultural college in Nigeria that is built to provide critical manpower and expertise to support its revolutionary direction in agriculture.

The Agriculture ministry perm sec  noted that  “The Edo State Colleges of Agriculture (Iguoriakhi) and Agricultural Technology (Agenebode) had by it's restructuring  metamorphosed to one unique College of Agriculture and Natural Resources with expanded, widened and deepened scope of academic, training, research and integrated extension services."

The new College has three schools, namely  "School of Agricultural Technology and Engineering at Iguoriakhi, which doubles as the main campus and administrative headquarters of the College; School of Aquaculture and Marine Technology, located at Agenebode and the School of Forestry and Environmental Technology located at Uromi".

The statement further said “Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions;   Principal Officer, Academic and Non-Teaching positions in the College.

“All Applications are to be submitted in a sealed envelope, by courier, and marked ‘Application for the Position applied’ at the top left-hand corner to reach the office of the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, not later than six weeks" 

Principal positions to be filled by the College include "that of the  Provost, Registrar, Bursar and Librarian. Other vacant positions are Library Officers, Programme System Analyst, Staff Nurse, Laboratory Technician/Medical Technician Recorder, Pharmacy Technician and Laboratory Technologists, among others.
