The new police Commissioner, Edo State command, Philip Aliyu Ogbadu has declared that criminals and People with criminal intentions should have a change of mind or relocate from the state as the command intends to make the state inhabitable for them.
The CP, who stated this while interacting with journalists at the press center of the Edo State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Tuesday, said "the level of criminality in Edo State has dropped and I intend to take it to zero level in no time".
The Commissioner of police said " my men and I intend to carry the fight to the criminals wherever they are sighted. We will smoke them out."
Stressing that "we will never plead or interface with criminals as we have send out a note of warning already, if you commit, we will come for you then you will regret whatever happens thereafter".
While Fielding questions from Journalists, CP OGBADU said another page is about to be opened in the relationship between the Media practitioners and the command stressing that Journalists should team up with the command to rid the state of criminals.
" This is our state, we can not afford to portray it in bad light. Many Edo citizens are doing great in other states, even in the far north. So let us all join hands to create a better image for our state. We are going to do our best to restore order and protect lives and property of citizens, we expect u, as our partners to braise up and put it in the right picture." Said CP OGBADU.
While welcoming the CP earlier, Edo State NUJ CHAIRMAN, Roland Osakue said Journalists in Edo state are doing their best possible with the coverage of events and activities of the police in the state.
Chairman Osakue urged the police authorities to always respond to calls from Journalists who call to confirm stories.
The Commissioner of police was accompanied to the NUJ Press center by principal Officers of Edo state command.
