COVID -19 : IGBINEDION UNIVERSITY PLANS RESEARCH SUMMIT TO X-RAY EFFECTS ON DEVELOPMENT.

IGBINEDION UNIVERSITY OKADA is proposing a research summit where Eggheads would converge to evaluate the  “Impact of Covid-19 on Research and Development”.

In a statement issued in okada by the registrar of the University, Friday Benji Bakare Esq, the summit which is the 2021 Edition of the annual event would feature special presentations on : - -Macro-Economics and Development: Implications in Research Development

- Climate Change and Environment

Science, Technology and Innovation and

- Disaster Management: National Strategy in New Normal, among others. 

The Registrar further said "the 2021 annual summit is scheduled for Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th May, 2021 at the University’s Main Library Conference Hall, Main Campus, Okada by 10am daily both physically and virtually via Zoom on ID: 96457744025 with 
Passcode : iuokada for participants in the West African Region while those outside the West African Region are to use the same ID but  with Passcode 
3301837".

"The event which holds under the distinguished Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor would feature Prof. Oyewale Tomori, Chairman Nigeria Expert Review Committee on Polio Eradication and Routine Immunization and former Vice-Chancellor Redeemers University who is the Special Guest of Honor.

The keynote address would be delivered by Dr. Kasirim Nwuke,
ManagingPartner, Misirak Associates (Policy Research Firm) and Former Chief, Green Economy, Technologies and Innovation of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Addis Ababa Ethiopia.

Accoding to the statement, the University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye PhD, FAS who approved the summit said "the Lead Speakers include : Professor Jerome Afeikhena, Special Adviser to the Commissioner for Rural Economy and Agriculture, African Union Commission, and International Consultant, Food and Agricultural Organization

- Mervin Azeta, Delivery Manager, Business Line Product and Services, Surface and Midstream Production Systems, Schlumberger, Nigeria and

- Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port-Harcourt and Immediate Past Director, Centre for Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies, Uniport

All guests are enjoined to wear face masks as all the NCDC safety protocols will be strictly enforced.
