WE ARE YET TO SEE THE BODY OF THE MURDERED OKAIGHELE OF KOLOKOLO, ONE YEAR AFTER . . . we demand Justice. . . Itsekiri people

Thousands of Itsekiri  people across  Ologbo Community in  Ikpoba Okha local government Area of Edo State have called on the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki , Oba of Benin , Ewuare 11 and the good people of Edo state  to earnestly  help bring to Justice those behind the killing of Sunny Etchie.

Sunny Etchie, the Okaighele of Kolokolo Community, in Ologbo Dukedom , Edo State, was allegedly  murdered, a year ago, by Johnson Atseleghe and 11 others in Ologbo in Edo State.


Spokesperson for the group, 
Ayokotie Benson, said ,  " today makes it a year that  Sunny Etchie was killed, we cannot get his body to even bury, and we are calling for quick Justice to unvail those who murdered him in cold blood.

" Those who killed him are there walking freely in the street, is it because they have the money? Please Justice should prevail."


"We are appealing to the governor, Godwin Obaseki, Oba of Benin , Oba Ewuare 11 , and the good people of Nigeria to come to our aid, by talking to the judiciary to quicken Justice.
 Also comrade Charles Godfrey, said,  " it is a year today that Sunny Etchie was killed, nothing has been done to bring those who killed him to Justice".

The widow of the late Sunny Etchie, Mrs. Bridget Etchie, appealed to those in charge to quicken Justice, " I want the killers of my husband brought to Justice, my children ask me every day, where is Daddy, when is he coming home"

Some of the placards reads, "Johnson Atseleghe should not be allowed to walk Free"  " we want  Justice for Ologbo People", "Johnson Atseleghe is a wicked man".

Chief Johnson Atselege and 11 Others are currently  being arraigned for  alleged conspiracy, kidnapping and murder of Mr. Sunny Etchie, the Okaighele of Kolokolo Community in Ologbo Dukedom, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State.

The accused were arraigned for offence which  contravened Sections 516, 327 and 316 (1) punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Act , Cap C38, Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004 and Section 2 (2) punishable under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Prohibition (Amendment) Law, 2013 of Edo State.
