"The news of the death of our great creative artist, musician and scholar came to me as a great shock which I have not been able to come to terms with".
In those words, Senator Domingo Obende expressed the shock with which the news of the death of Prof Victor UWAIFO came on Saturday evening.
In a condolence message issued in Abuja, a copy of which was made available to SPARKNEWSNAIJA Senator OBENDE described sir Victor UWAIFO as "a bundle of talents who did excelled in everything he puts his hands."
The AKOKO-EDO burn Senator who represented Edo North Senatorial district at the National Assembly's 7th Senate (2011-2015) said "Sir Victor UWAIFO would be greatly missed for his contributions to the growth of African music, it's art, culture and creativity which he has dilegently exported to the world.
" His love for his Benin people, and their culture brought out the creativity in him, which then became a passion, and an academic pursuit which he took to its peak"
"My encounter with Professor Victor UWAIFO dated back into the 60s while I was a young boy. I saw in him as an excellent goal getter who gets his conviction and dreams actualised with presumed ease"
