That Mr. Emokhare Iluore and Orukpe Monday Jeremy, are alive today to tell their story in the hands of two trigger-happy policemen is a lifetime mystery that could have only been ascribable to God.
According to the duo in their duly acknowledged petition titled, "Case of Attempted Murder, Malicious Damage, Abuse of the Peace against some police Officers..." addressed to the AIG, Zone 5, Benin and dated October 7, 2021.
According to the petition he was "waiting for traffic light to pass my direction as I was driving towards Ring Road and there was a truck already ahead of me to move, So, I can have a free access to the road, suddenly, two armed policemen with guns in their hands, had asked us to stop, preferably for their stop and search operation."
"Should we have stopped as directed, it would have compounded the traffic situations, as such, a traffic officer pleaded that we should be allowed to pack properly which we obeyed."
"In our attempt to do the parking, the policemen fired gunshots at our car, shattering the back windscreen of my Black colour Mercedes Benz, JLK 350 with Registration FCT: RBC 702 BD. They zoomed off after the incident and abandoned their stop and search duty thinking I must be dead by then due to the impact of the bullets on my vehicle".
