2023 : NIGERIA MUST EMBARK ON GENERATIONAL TRANSFER OF POWER AND WEALTH TO ITS YOUTH POPULATION. . . Dr. Akinwumi ADESINA.

The Nigerian youth population has been identified as the most potent energy and force of transformation for the Nation to regain it's place in the committee of nations globally.
The President, African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi ADESINA who stated this in a zoom lecture titled NIGERIA, A COUNTRY OF MANY NATIONS : A QUEST FOR NATIONAL INTEGRATION delivered at the 80th birthday celebration of Pastor E.A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God said that "for Nigeria to be all that it can be, the youth of Nigeria must be all they can be".
He said "the Nigeria youth population which forms the viable strength of productivity to grow the nation's economy has over 40% of them unemployed, Lacking in skills, economic opportunities, highly discouraged, angry and restless, as they look into a future that does not give them hope".
Dr. Akinwumi ADESINA who has been tipped as a possible successor to president Mohammadu Buhari come 2023 general elections said "the future of Nigeria and it's citizens, most especially it's youths, should not be mortgaged or slaughtered on political grounds".
He however advocated that "Investments in our youths must be prioritized, up-skill them for the jobs of the future by moving from youth empowerment to youth investment.
The social and political space must be opened up for them to express their views and becoming a positive force for National Development."
"The popular saying that the young shall grow no longer have relevance in today's Nigeria as our young ones have arrived."
The Nigeria's former Agriculture minister said that "for Nigerian youths to be making waves globally, contributing to the growth of developed economies, but sidelined in their country is no longer acceptable to right thinking Nigerians."
"The African Development Bank approved $170 Million in December, 2021 to support its program to expand digital and creative industries, by unleashing the incredible entrepreneurship of Nigeria's youth "
Dr. Akinwumi ADESINA also stated that "the Bank is also exploring the establishment of Youth Email Investment Banks, that is, financial institutions for young people, run by first-rate young bankers and financial experts, to drive youth-wealth creation."
