INSECURITY : HOUSE OF REPS GO SPIRITUAL, EXPRESS WORRIES OVER RISING KILLINGS.

The  House of Representatives has adjourned it sitting, in solidarity with the victims and other Nigerians who have been under siege with the multifarious security challenges facing the Nation. 

The resolution was made amid the rising security challenges in the country.


In the Thursday  plenary, the outcome of which was placed on the official Tweeter handle of the House of Representatives, they urged Nigeria government  "to as a matter of urgency, implement the recommendations of National Security Summit, the House held in 2021 which contains seven recommendations that require legislative action, and about 19 that will be implemented by the Executive, was presented to the president for implementation, almost a year ago. 


The House also expressed  worries over increasing cases of banditry, killings, kidnappings & attacks on critical infrastructure by criminal elements

The Members had special prayers, seeking God's face to end the killings and banditry in the country.

The Deputy Speaker,  House of Representatives  Hon Ahmed Wase who presided over the plenary said "many citizens whose lives were lost in one location alone,  in two days, is quite a serious issue". 

The House of Representatives then suspended plenary for the rest of the day and adjourned sitting till Tuesday next week in solidarity with the victims of the killings and attacks in Birnin Gwari, Giwa in Kaduna State, and all federal constituencies in the country.
