Edo South Senatorial hopeful for the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon Osaretin Edosomwan has assured he would not relent on a personal drive to offer robust and qualitative representation to the people of the district.
The senatorial hopeful gave this assurance when he met with the twelve APC ward Chairmen of Oredo local Government area weekend as part of his district-wide consultation to elicit support for his nomination as the party flagbearer in the forthcoming National Assembly elections.
The Senatorial hopeful who thanked the ward leaders and acknowledged the important role they play at the grassroots, reiterated that his desire to fly the party flag, is premised on equity across the entire local government areas in the district.
According to him, "The Senator representing our district must be one with capacity and intelligence to articulate plans, programmes and policies, liasing with relevant Federal agencies, ministries and departments and in tandem with a mantra of providing greater good to the larger number of the Edo South people. I say with confidence I have what it takes".
According to Edosomwan, " if I become the flagbearer and get elected I plan to conduct a needs assessment of all the wards in the district, to know the pressing needs of various communities to inform the choice of projects that will be facilitate to respective communities in the district".
Edosomwan also spoke on the his plans to intimate schemes where young people in the district would be trained in high-demand digital skills as part of a solution to the unemployment situation in the district
"It is a high time we prepare our youth for the challenges of the future by equipping them with the requisite skill-set required for survival in the digital age. To do this we must provide them with necessary access".
"For our mothers I have promised to carry them along in an inclusive set up that will benefit also our children in manner that will better the lot of families in the entire district for all times sake".
Meanwhile, Hon Edosomwan had called on the ward leaders to continue encouraging members of the party, who are of age or have changed residence, to register for their Permanent Voter Card with the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), adding it is the only way to ensure that the party wins the district in the elections.
