LABOUR PARTY PRIMARIES HELD IN EDO GOVERNMENT HOUSE? A Fringe of their imagination. . . Comrade Kelly Ogbalor.
By Mike ALADENIKA.
The Political climate in Edo state is getting charged by the day as permutations and intrigues are fast pointing to a possible relevance of a third force in the polity come 2023 general election.
Flowing from the torrent of political vibrations at the national level which has thrown up the Labour party and it's candidate Peter obi as a possible electible candidate as against the PDP and APC candidates.
Political watchers in Edo state are of the opinion that with the proctracted crisis rocking the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the labour Party may likey be the next beneficiary, as indicated in a write up by one Osigwe Omo' Ikirodah where he insinuated that Labour Party had its primaries with the perimeter of the government house.
Reacting to the insinuation in the write up, the state chairman, Labour Party, Edo state Chapter, Comrade Kelly Ogbalor, said "at no time was there any convergence or gathering of Labour Party members, for whatever purchase, at or within the perimeter of Edo State government house".
Comrade Kelly Ogbalor, who stated this in a statement issued in femininity said
"the unprofessional act of the author of the said publication is baseless and mere assumptions which was supposed to be verified before peddling it as a fact," describing it as "a condemnable and fallacious assumption which is lacking in facts and substance".
The Edo State Labour party chairman, comrade Kelly Ogbalor while condemning the assumptions and positions of the author said "Journalist of repute should endeavour to fact-check their stories before publishing so as not to mislead the citizens in any way"
He however challenged the alleged author to "come up with photographs, videos as proves that Edo State Labour Party held his primary election at Government House, to proof his allegations"
"Such assumptions are not in terdem with journalism profession, as such the author's journalistic qualifications should be verified to avoid collateral damage in the highly noble profession."
" As at the last time I checked, I know whenever a journalist is in doubt of any information, he/she calls the parties involve to balance his facts before publishing, so authoritatively penning down what you did not verified shows you lack the prerequisite qualifications the job entails," Ogbalor said.
He however thanked the people of Edo State for the massive support and nod of acceptance they are giving to Labour Party Presidential Candidate and called on those who have not gotten their Permanent Voting Card (PVC) to do that as the upcoming election is the only opportunity ordinary masses have to repositioned Nigeria , as such should not be taken lightly.
