The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria,(RTEAN) Edo State branch has gotten a new Leadership. He is Comrade Charles Momoh who was the Deputy State Chairman, Administration, before his elevation.
The association had, in a statement issued by the state secretary, comrade Collins Okundaye, the peaceful change of guard was nessecitated by natural challenges which does not give room for vacuum within the system
In an interview with media men in Benin City, the State Deputy Secretary, Chief B.D.F. Okpokunu said "the change of guard in the Edo State branch is in accordance with relevant constitutional provisions of RTEAN."
"The new State Chairman, Comrade Charles Momoh has been very active in the system as well as been supportive to the immediate past chairman. He emerged following the national directive that Edo state should have a substantive leadership since the former chairman is currently indisposed to discharging his official duties effectively due to health challenge."
"Comrade Charles Momoh is in a familiar terrane as all the current members of the State Executive Council are aware and have promised to team up with him to elevate our union"
Chief B.D.F OKPOKUNU said "all the chapel leadership that are members of the State Executive Council are in support of the current leadership. At the maiden SEC meeting presided over by our new chairman, all the chapel leaders and the State Exco members agreed to work together with a view to growing the union"
The RTEAN Deputy State Secretary then "enjoined all RTEAN members in the state to embrace the change and new leadership", while urging then to "remain peaceful, law abiding, and loyal in the discharge of their responsibilities to the union".
