CENSUS : NPC Intensifies Advocacy, Enlightenment Campaign in Edo . . . Teams Visit Religious Institutions in Benin-City.

Following the directive by the Honourable Federal Commissioner representing Edo state at the National Population Commission, Dr. Tony Aiyejina, Edo state directorate of the NPC has intensified it's advocacy and enlightenment campaign for Nigerians, resident in Edo state, to register, online, for the various ad-hoc positions available ahead of the 2023 census.
The Edo state office headed by the state director, Mr Ayodele Okiei accompanied by other management staff were at the Benin City central mosque where they had interface with Muslim faithful.
Mr Okiei who delivered the message of the federal commissioner, NPC, Dr. Tony Aiyejina, enjoined them to register as well as encourage eligible Nigerians to register through the commission's e-registration portal for the ad-hoc engagement of officials who will conduct the census next year.
Also speaking at the same central mosque, Hajia Seidu told worshipers that the census will enable the nation to get the right statistics with which government will be able to project and design policies for development.
The Edo directorate advocacy team were also at various churches in be in city where they admonished Christians to join other Nigerians to make a success of the census project.
At the Assemblies of God Church, among other churches visited, the team leader and the state director, Mr Ayodele Okiei said the commission is determined to give Nigeria, an adequate census.
He said the census project is designed in such a way that Nigerians are to count themselves, stressing that no one would be imported from another location to do the counting but for the local residents to count their areas at it is geofenced.
At the New Convenant Gospel Church,(His Glory) Benin-City, another team headed by Mrs Ohonba Ameze Rita alongside top management staff, took the message of the E-recruitment Enlightenment campaign to Christians with a call to them to ensure they aree all involved in the e-registration exercise.
Mrs Ohonba's team armed with sufficient enlightenment materials tutored the worshipers on the modus and modalities of getting registered for the adhoc
e-recruitment ahead of the census.
The enlightenment and advocacy campaign continues as the team is expected to visit other locations institutions and people ahead of the census.
