2023 Election : We Will Not Accommodate Political Thuggery, Election-Related Crimes. . . Nigeria Police.

The Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), in Sokoto State has counseled all political candidates contesting for National and States positions on how to manage election victories and losses in the state.

This admonition was contained in a statement issued  by DSP Sanusi Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state command, copy of which was made available to SPARKNEWNAIJA, in Soloto. 

According to Abubakar, the action was part of the agreements reached at the committee’s crucial meeting with all the candidates of the 18 political parties that fielded positions in the state and their party Chairmen.

He said the meeting, which was chaired by , the Commissioner of Police in the state,  Mr Muhammed Gumel centered on the way forward towards successful elections across the state.

“The politicians have been generously guided on prohibited activities on the election days.

“They brainstormed on the emerging security challenges that could mar the electoral process especially In banditry-prone Local Government Areas,” he said.

Abubakar added that the discussion was far-reaching and productive enough for a way forward towards safer 2023 electioneering processes.
