2-Season Hotel Kaduna Episode : Edo Governorship Hopeful Frowns, Calls For Sanctions Against Perpetrators.

A leader of the All Progressive Congress(APC) and a governorship hopeful in the 2024 governorship election in Edo State, Hon Joseph Ikpea has called on the leadership of the  Nigerian Army and other relevant authorities to institute a powerful panel to investigate the remote involvement of some supposed military officers, in uniform, flogging and torturing civilians in a Kaduna hotel.

Hon. Joe Ikpea said, in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Benin City, "this inhuman treatment meted out to Nigerian civilians by uniform personnel is becoming unacceptable to any sane mind.

" It is high time this mentality of a few in the military and other security agencies be reviewed through proper reorientation as the perceived military superiority  over  civilians is now a ruse globally.  It is important that we all as Nigerians, our  uniform personnel inclusive, should get it  clear that Nigeria is a democracy and that both the civil population and the uniform personnel owe it as of mutual responsibility to respect the status and dignity of one another.

 " The 2- Season Hotel, Kaduna Episode is, by all recorninig, not a good reflection of what our army and the security agencies are but a reflection of the fact that there exist possible bad eggs in every system which must be flushed out with a view to retaining the sanity of the institutions. 

The frontline Edo 2024 governorship hopeful said "the offending officers in the video should be judiciously dealth   with.  Beyond this, all the members of the various security agencies should be subjected to civil-military relationship lectures that would purge them of their superior relationship with Nigerians.

Nigerians, not only the affected people of the kaduna saga are today disillusioned with the activities of these bad eggs within our Army and in  some other security agencies. I am by this statement calling on the relevant authorities, most especially the Nigeria Army to do the needful and make example of the offending officers.

" There is no doubting  the fact that the Nigerian Military enjoy global respect and recognition as a result of its excellent international engagements in the various peacekeeping forces coupled with its display of competence whenever the need arises. 

"I am a Nigerian who prides myself in the level of achievement of our military. We get pained when the bad eggs among them try to drag our national heritage and symbols of unity in the mud. It is our collective responsibly to get such people out of our officers, ranks and file.
