"I have not been able to come to terms with the news of the death of my brother a friend and a leader of value addition Dr Raymond Aleogho  Dokpesi". This been the statement of shock expressed by Dr Domingo Obende following the demise of the founder and Chairman Emeritus of DAAR Communications PLC.

Senator Domingo Obende in a condolence message issued in Abuja, copies of which was made available to newsmen said
"his transition sent shock waves throughout the media industry and the political landscape in Nigeria. As it is, the industry has lost a giant, a media mogul who made immense contributions towards the growth and development of the industry.

"DAAR Communications' AIT/Raypower Radio grew to become one of the most influential media organizations in the country, covering a wide range of issues and providing a platform for diverse opinions.
"High Chief Dokpesi was a fearless media owner who never shied away from speaking truth to power. He used his platform to hold government officials accountable and expose corruption and other social ills.
Interesting amongst his many generous acts is the Christian broadcasting done freely to many Christian bodies to the point that many would think he was a Christian but to those close to him were aware of his Islamic faith but he loved God with a passion.

"His commitment to investigative journalism was unwavering, and he was never intimidated by threats or attempts to silence him.

"Chief Dokpesi was a true visionary, a man who understood the power of the media and its importance in shaping Senator Domingo Obende while consoling the family members and the management of DAAR Communications PLC said "The greatest honour that could be done to ARABA would be to keep his good works going. Whosoever will step into his massive shoes should endeavour to relive the life and times of our great brother and compatriot.
May God provide you a place in Paradise and may your soul rest in peace
