Edo 2024 : Labour Party Restrategizing Ahead of Guber Poll, Sets Up Committees.

In continuation of his desire to lead a more cohesive and forward-looking party into the Edo 2024 governorship Election, the national chairman of Labour Party, Comrade Julius Abure held yet another stakeholders ing in Benin City, Monday. 

The meeting, which was a continuation of the one held some weeks ago availed the National Chairman to have a one-on-one interface with party leaders from the local government through senatorial to state levels as well as critically examine reports from the various committees set up in the previous meeting.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Comrade Julius Abure enjoined the party leaders in attendance to close ranks and work as a team to deliver the state from the shackles of bad governance.

" Edo state is in dire need of good and quality leadership which we in the labour party are prepared to provide. Taking over power from these Hawks of politicians demands a more united team with a strong, determined and renewed energy.

"We must be more determined and focused as a party than before. The masses of our people in Edo state and Nigeria are tired of these corrupt and inept disposition of the political class. So our mandate from the people is to rescue the state and Nigeria from the hands of bad and corrupt leaders.

The meeting which is due to reconvene soonest had further committees set up to formulate watertight and workable strategies that would involve more of the youths, women and  support groups. 

While feilding questions from journalists after the meeting, the National Chairman of Labour Party, Comrade Julius Abure said " for as much as we do not want to take the support of Edo people and electorates for granted, we know that they are with Labour party. We are more determined than before to provide leadership. 

On the modality that will throw up the party's candidate in the 2024 governorship election, comrade Abure said "we, as a party, would be fair to all. The party would determine its candidate but we can assure you that as leaders of the party, we will never impose any individual on the party. All our members that would indicate interest are ably qualified. They will all come together with the party to elect a candidate in a process that will guarantee fairness and justice. Whosoever that would emerge will surely enjoy the support of other aspirants as the process must have been confirmed fair enough.
