Dr. Domingo Obende who, in a congratulatory message personally signed in Abuja, copy of which was made available to SparkNewsNaija, said "the elevation of Prof. Ihonvbere to the exalted office of the Majority Leader of the House of Reps is most deserving and a further call to service of our motherland.

"Prof, there is no doubt in my mind that you are very qualified and competent to hold  and use the office to serve the interests of Nigeria and Nigerians. I am very convinced that Edo North  and Edo State in particular will benefit from the quality services that your office will provide. …..

"Your current position as Majority Leader can not be different but is another opportunity brought your way by God to show the qualities and positive stuff you are made of.

" Your emergence, my brother and compatriot, came at a time governance under President Bola Tinubu, was being re-tooled for the benefit of the masses. A time when Nigeria leadership are trying  to regain the trust and interest of the citizens in the national project of good and progressive governance for which the National Assembly, as the democratically elected representatives of the people must play a major role.
