Agriculture: Imansuangbon's Nomination, Election Will Open Vista Of Opportunities. . . Group

A group under the aegis of Imansuangbon Solidarity Movement (ISM) says that when elected as Governor of Edo state, Barr Ken Imansuangbon's administration will open a vista of opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The group noted that the rhetorics  that had greeted the sector from previous administration will give way for reality.

The convener of the group, Engr. 

Isaac Ehigiamusoe stated this in a press statement made available to newsmen in Benin.

He said that the state's comparative advantage as well as the potentials of the sector would be fully harnessed to create wealth and the needed jobs for the citizens.

Ehigiamusoe posited that unlike previous administration, Imansuangbon's administration would attract the needed investment to the sector for the benefit of the state and the people.

According to him, "It is rather sad that all we have had and heard over the years is the talk of revamping or investing in the agricultural sector of the state that never saw the light of the day.

"For Imansuangbon, rhetorics will give way for practicality. The administration will put money in the sector to create food security and explore the potentials leading to job  and  wealth for the citizenry.

"Edo state is blessed with arable land and the weather across the three senatorial districts. There is practically no crops that will not grow well in the state.

"To him (Imansuangbon), agriculture value chain in the state when fully harnessed, will catapult the state to an enviable one in the country."

Ehigiamusoe also pointed out that the farmers will get lots of encouragement from Imansuangbon's administration should they support him to be elected governor in 2024.

"The truth is, famers across the state have not really gotten the needed encouragement in terms of provision of soft loans, farm input and implements from the government of the state.

"Not only is Imansuangbon going to provide these, he will also assist the farmers to move from subsistence farming by helping them in the area of land preparations.

"The essence is to ensure food security in the state and also increase income of farmers interest.

"All that is needed to make this realistic is to ensure the nomination of Imansuangbon as the Labour Party candidate and his election as governor come 2024," he stated.
