FRSC Tasks Firms To key Into Its RTSSS Scheme

The FRSC has urged companies and institutions owning large fleet of vehicles to key into its Road Transport Safety Standardization Scheme (RTSSS) specifically designed for them to ensure safer motoring.

The FRSC Unit Commander in Ojota, Lagos State, Mr Spence Olakunjo said this today when he received a management team from Nehemiah Grace Developers Ltd. (NGDL) on a courtesy visit.

The Unit Commander commended the cooperation shown by the nation’s motoring public to achieving a significant reduction in road accidents in the country since 1988 when the corps was established.

According Mr Olakunjo, an Asst. Corps Commander, these companies and institutions should take advantage of the scheme and synergize with the FRSC to ensure adequate training of their drivers to avoid unnecessary loss of lives, it will also assist to secure their huge investments in their vehicle acquisition. 
The Head of the NGDL delegation, ACP Tunde Sunmonu (retired), expressed the company’s acknowledgement of the important role that the FRSC is playing in the management of the nation’s numerous roads to ensure sanity, adding that its national relevance cannot be over-emphasized.

According to him, the NGDL desires to consolidate its relationship with the FRSC for purposes of mutual benefits, especially as a construction firm which operates an appreciable fleet of vehicles and employed many drivers. 

Mr Sunmonu, the Company’s Group General Manager (Services), said the property development company would count on FRSC’s assistance at periodic intervals, to help train its drivers and transport officials on road applications, vehicle maintenance, regularization of vehicle particulars and other operational tools, with the overall aim of improving their performances and ensuring good usage of our roads. 

He thanked the agency for the past assistance and understanding its men on the field had shown the company’s vehicle operators at various times.
