Edo 2024: Omorodion Endorses Akpata, Says LP Will Have Agents in All Polling Units

Prince Egbe Omorodion, a former contestant for the Edo Labour Party governorship ticket has graciously  thrown his full support behind the Party Gubernatorial Candidate Barr Olumide Akpata  to win the September Edo governorship election.


 Omorodion, who chairs the Labour Party Diaspora in the UK and is a member of the Benin royal family, unequivocally endorsed Akpata during a virtual meeting of LP stakeholders and Journalists.

 He also lauded Akpata's integrity and suitability for the job, while emphasizing his impeccable record as the former Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) president, and called into question the credentials of other candidates in the race.


 Despite initial disappointment over not securing the LP ticket, Omorodion now firmly believes in Akpata's worthiness and fully backs his governorship project.


 He expressed unwavering confidence in Akpata's victory in the race for the Dennis Osadebe Government House


Barrister Olumide Akpata  who briefly  participated in the virtual meeting due to campaign schedule  expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support and emphasized the collective effort required for the project. 


Prince Omorodion had during Questions and Answers period  stated that he remains optimistic about the LP's readiness for the election, adding the party will  deplore party agents to all polling units to counter any attempts at rigging by other parties. 


Additionally, he reassured that the LP will not allow any compromise in the collation and announcement of authentic results

 Addressing the party crisis, Prince Omorodion stated that the worst is over for the LP, highlighting the expiration of Abure's tenure as national chairman and the takeover of the party's affairs by a caretaker committee

He further asserted that the previous leadership lacked the legal authority to appoint a chairman for the party in Edo State.
