Edo NULGE President-Elect Eulogises Obaseki over creation of conducive environment

The newly elected president of the National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Comrade Daudu Clifford has appreciated the Edo state governor, Mr Godwin obaseki for creating an enabling environment that culminated in the successful and peaceful election conducted by the umbrella body of the local government workers.

The NULGE election was one of the major attractionsn at the recently held 11th Quadrennial State Delegate Conference of the National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, which took place at Sabogindaa Ora in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The President-Elect who made the statement in his acceptance speech after his declaration as the winner of the State NULGE Election said "Special appreciation to the best Governor in Nigeria, Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, of Edo state, for demonstrating comradeship in creating the enabling environment and necessary support for us to hold our elections without hitches, such laudable gestures demonstrated by His Excellency will never be taken for granted.

He also extended appreciation to the National Leadership of the Union, saying "To our National Leadership ably led by the President General, Distinguished Comrade Akeem Olatunji Ambali who came to Edo to restore peace and calmness in an already tensed Union. 
"As a father and a man of his words, having fixed the date and venue for the election he came to ensure that the election went smoothly as earlier scheduled. I remain grateful to him for his fatherly deposition and commitment to see that the wishes of Nulgerians in Edo State prevailed. "

 The newly elected Edo NULGE President further said "My deepest appreciation also goes to our leader in the struggle, Comrade Anthony Kaduna Eboigbodin, former National Deputy President, Former State President, former HOLGA and former NLC chairman in Edo State for the uncommon leadership and his commitment to a credible electoral process. The National President appointing him as the electoral officer for the election was not a coincidence.

 "Same appreciation goes to other National and state leaders of the Union, Comrade Barr. Friday Jomani, former Deputy National President and Comr. Sanitarian Young Ilenikhena, Immediate Past State President of the NULGE, Edo State for the participation in the process. The advice and commitment of these NULGE veterans was instrumental to the success of the 11th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference.


"I must not fail to commend the effort of the State President, Comrade Lazarus Imokhai Adorolo and the entire State EXCO for standing resilient in defense of the principles that bind us together as one indivisible family in Edo State.The Branch Chairmen were extraordinary through the journey and their mass participation alongside other duly elected delegates in yesterday's election was golden. May the God that we serve continually guide and protect us all. NULGE Edo President Elect said. 


"I am eternally grateful to the Secretariat staff led by Olumuyiwa Cole Esq. for the painstaking steps in ensuring that the right things were done at all times. The constitutional processes followed is indeed faultless.


"Let me also remark that the confidence reposed in me is massive and loud and won't be betrayed. To my gallant co-contestants, the victory is for all of us. There is no loser we all won the election and congratulations to us all.


The newly elected Comrade Daudu Clifford-led exco is expected to be sworn in later in September to pilot the affairs of the Union in the next four years.
