SPORTS : AAU Wins NIMSA Football Gold, Ranks Overall 3rd. . . We are poised To Become National Champions...Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel

The Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma's sports contingent to the just concluded Nigeria Medical Students Associations(NIMSA) Games tagged UNILAG 2024 has won the prestigious Gold medal in football and other related sports events competed for at the event.

The AAU's sports contingent of the Medical Students Association(AAUMSA) that represented the University at the games won gold medal in Males football, another gold in Male Handball, bronze in female handball and bronze in female voll.axwseyball among other medals won.

Presenting the medals won to the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel the team lead and the director of Sports, AAUMSA Oluwafemi Ebenezer said "beyond the team sports medals won, some of our members who participated in individual sports also came home with laurels.

"These unprecedented triumphs have helped to write AAUMSA's name in the annals of NIMSA sports history. We put in our best to represent AAU with our admirable performances in the various categories thus earning us a total of 26 medals thus placing us as the 3rd best University in Nigeria.

Receiving the sports contingent, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Prof Sunday Olowo Samuel thanked then for been worthy ambassadors.

"You have made us proud. We are happy that the "don't say death..." spirit of AAU is back and it will take us to greater heights.

"Your success at the games is in line with the new trajectory that the current Governing Council headed by our own Dr. Omo-Ehijele Frank Odafen is creating to restore our institutional glory.

"I make bold to tell you, my children, that this is a new AAU, EKPOMA, where the leadership and Management are more determined than ever before to do what is right and reward excellence. A new AAU, EKPOMA where the staff, both teaching and Non-teaching are also more committed to service delivery.

"I am by this, calling on all our students to rededicate themselves to deligence and hardwork which we are sure will lead to your success in life.
