The staff and students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, were overjoyed when their commuting stress was alleviated with the provision of a luxury bus to convey workers to and from work. This development was made possible by the state governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, as part of his administration's efforts to address the transportation challenges faced by the university community.
While confirming this in a telephone interview with newsmen, the Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Otunba Mike Ade Aladenika, said:
"This is a pointer to the fact that our dear governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, knows the pains of his people and is well-positioned to address them.
Even when we know that this is the beginning of good things to come to our University, we want to thank the people's governor, from the bottom of our hearts, for alleviating our transportation challenges.Honestly speaking, it's no longer enjoyable coming to work these days, considering the biting economic hardship we are facing."
"We are confident that the introduction of this free bus shuttle service will bring attention to our other pressing challenges, including increased subvention for the university, payment of the minimum wage, offsetting backlog of salary arrears, and infrastructural development.
"I would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to our dear governor for his kindness towards us," said Otunba Aladenika, on behalf of the management, staff, and students of the university. "We are truly grateful."
