The Management of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, has expressed its appreciation to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for reinstating the sacked members of staff.
According to a release issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, the governor approved the immediate reinstatement of staff who were unlawfully disengaged from the service of the institution by the defunct Special Intervention Team (SIT) in March 2023 under the administration of former Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel, commended the governor's action, saying it "restores our hopes of better days to come." He also assured the governor of the staff's loyalty and commitment to their duties.
Governor Okpebholo's decision has been hailed as a demonstration of his commitment to justice and the rule of law. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ambrose Alli University Chapter, has also praised the governor for reinstating the sacked workers, describing it as a vindication of the union's stance on the issue.
