The management of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma has directed the reversal of over-deductions from staff salaries for August 2025, effective immediately. This decision was made during an emergency management meeting held in Ekpoma to address staff concerns regarding the tax regime implementation.
According to the management team led by Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel, "We have listened to the concerns and pains expressed by our staff, and we are directing that the tax regime be reversed with immediate effect."
The management has also established a committee to develop a more staff-friendly tax policy. The committee, comprising professionals, bursary, audit, and registry representatives, as well as union chairmen and secretaries, will negotiate with relevant authorities to formulate a workable tax policy.
Otunba Mike Aladenika, Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, stated that the Governing Council and management prioritize staff welfare. He urged staff to remain calm, assuring them that their interests are being considered."
