HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY TO A MAN OF DISTINCTION . . . Prof. Marshall Azeke

By  Marshall A. Azeke

Reaching the "Diamond Jubilee" is a beautiful milestone, especially for someone who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of truth and the service of others.

*A tribute for a Diamond Jubilee to Otumba Mike Ade Aladenika.*

Six decades of grace, a journey well-trod,
Guided by faith and the hand of our God.
Like a river that flows, bringing life to the banks,
You’ve filled many hearts with reasons for thanks.

A master of words, with a pen sharp and bright,
You’ve chased away shadows and brought forth the light.
From the frontlines of news to the ivory tower’s gate,
You’ve served with a spirit both humble and great.

At sixty, you stand like a cedar so tall,
A pillar of strength, a blessing to all.
May the Lord bless your "Image," both inside and out,
And give you a joy that the world cannot doubt.

May your strength be renewed like the eagle in flight,
As you walk in the favor of God’s holy light.
Happy Birthday, Otunba, may your new year be,
A testament grand to His Great Majesty.

The Attributes of an "OTUMBA"
Using the title of honour you carry so well, here is a breakdown of the man you are:

O – Outstanding: In his craft as a journalist and his leadership as an image maker.

At sixty, the ink of your life runs deep and gold,
A story of favor and courage, beautifully told.
You have been the voice for the voiceless and a shield for the truth,
Carrying the wisdom of age with the vigor of youth.

As you lead the "Image" of the halls of AAU,
May the Image of Christ be seen clearly in you.
May your barns be filled plenty, your spirit stay bright,
As you walk through this decade in God’s holy light.

*A Special Birthday Prayer*
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." — Numbers 6:24-26

May your 60th year be your most fruitful yet, filled with health, laughter, and the warmth of family.

*Happy Birthday, Sir*
