The Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Prof. Mrs. Eunice Eboiserehimen Omonzejie, has described the Best Governor 2025 Award (Education) conferred on Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, by New Telegraph Newspapers as another testament to his outstanding performance.
In a statement issued by the University’s Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Otunba Mike Ade Aladenika, the Vice-Chancellor said the award clearly reflects the Governor’s determination to rebuild the entire education architecture of Edo State.
“On behalf of the Chairman and members of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff and students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, I congratulate you on this well-deserved award in recognition of your excellent performance,” she stated.
She noted that the Governor’s resolve to prioritise the education sector is indicative of his broader vision to build a productive Edo State through strategic investment in children and youths by promoting quality education.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the Governor’s present and sustained interventions in Ambrose Alli University are unparalleled. “You have changed the narrative of our great institution from one of lamentation to one of celebration, appreciation and gratitude,” she said.
She listed some of the Governor’s interventions to include the appointment of credible members into the University’s Governing Council;
the regularisation of University administration with the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor; improved security architecture with the provision of vehicle and motorcycles for patrol, employment of security personnel to beef up existing one; construction of internal road network; recall of politically disengaged lecturers; approval of the payment of the new minimum wage to staff; among others.
Prof. Omonzejie further stated: “We join your numerous supporters and well-wishers to celebrate you today and always. Your shadow will never grow less. We pray that God grants you good health to continue your good works and dedicated service to the people of Edo State.”
